Candy Cane Chocolate Bark

This is the first installment of my little mini-series of festive recipes, candy cane chocolate bark. Mint and chocolate go so well together, you can choose to use one type of chocolate like I did, or swirl some white or milk chocolate through as well. This would make for a lovely handmade gift, just pop some into a cellophane bag, then tie the bag closed with a little ribbon

You’ll need;

  1. 200g/7oz dark chocolate, broken into cubes
  2. Five candy canes, broken into small pieces

Method;

  • To melt the chocolate, simply microwave it in ten second bursts, removing from the microwave and stirring each time. Once it’s nearly all melted take it out of the microwave and stir until the chocolate fully melts
  • Evenly spread the chocolate onto a lined baking tray, give the tray a few taps the remove any air bubbles
  • Scatter over the candy cane pieces and gently press them into the chocolate
  • Once the chocolate has set it’s ready to break into shards
