This rich cheese sauce is easy to make, and doesn’t require any vegan cheese or cashews. Stir it through pasta, pour it over vegetables, or eat in burgers or with nachos. If you haven’t found a vegan cheese you like, but you still want an easy to make cheese sauce, give this a try
Yield; 575g sauce Cook time; 5 minutes
You’ll need;
- 325ml of plant milk, I used soya milk
- 215g smoked tofu, I used Tofoo
- Half a teaspoon of each of the following; ground turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder
- Four tablespoons of nutritional yeast
- 25g plant based butter
- Salt to taste
Method;
- All you need to do is add everything into a blender and blend until it’s completely smooth. Once it’s smooth it’s ready to use
Just heat it up and it’s ready to go. I heated some up in the microwave and stirred it through penne
However you choose to heat the sauce up, don’t let it get too hot or boil. This could risk curdling the milk and then the sauce will no longer be smooth
